|
28th April 2003
Windsurfing: Brogborough Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 15 - 25 mph Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: 13 Sea Temperature: getting warmer Weather: rain showers Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Was in work today and kept looking outside to see the trees bent over and
stuff. I just had to getout today after sitting in pub for lunch yesterday
watching the trees bent over too.
Arrived at Brog about 3pm (good thing about shift work). The wind seemed to
be blowing quite a bit a couple of people out on 6.5s I had a 7m or a 6.3
decided on 7.0 tush heckler with lots of down haul I was expecting to be
overpowered.
Once on the water, Guess what? the wind dropped off.
Had a couple of marginal runs then some powered up runs wind was up and
down with the showers coming through but there was no pattern to it wind
with rain then rain without wind.
Came back in and let off lots of downhaul (only top panel with any slack in
amd only a little outhaul)
Was able to get going much better with more shape to sail. Wind was still
up and down a lot really frustraiting at times. Was finding it really hard
to gybe today was finding it really hard to turn board I think it was being
back on a large board managed a couple of gybes though and had a go at
entering tacks fully powered up and on the plane.
Wind started to get up a quite a bit and was starting to get a bit
overpowerd in the in gusts with so little downhaul on sail, time was 6.30
by now so decided it was time to head home for some tea!
